Derry City are delighted to announce that Simon Madden has joined the club.
The 23 year old full back was captain of Dundalk in the 2011 season but has opted to move north for the coming campaign.

The BBC are reporting that City full-back, Danny Lafferty is being linked with a £200,000 move to English Championship side Burnley.

The draw for the 2012 Setanta Sports Cup took place today and City have been pitted against Lisburn Distillery in the first round.
City will travel away to the Whites on the 13th of February, with the return tie in the Brandywell a week later.

City got their pre-season campaign up and running with a comfortable win over Dungannon Swifts last night.

Not many Airtricty League clubs will sign full internationals in the close season but City have signalled their intent with the capture of Rory Patterson on a two year deal.
Patterson who is from Strabane, cut short his loan deal with Linfield to sign on the Candystripes and is Declan Devine’s first major signing since taking charge at Brandywell.
