Defender Stewart Greacen has rejoined Derry City after a brief spell with Irish League club Glentoran.
The 30-year-old Scottish-based player asked the Glens to release him from his 18-month contract. He said it was proving difficult training in Scotland and just coming over to Northern Ireland for matches.
Greacen joined up for Derry’s weekend training camp in Dublin, as did Owen Morrison who has agreed a new one-year deal with the Brandywell club.
Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Morrison joined Derry for a third time towards the end of the 2011 League of Ireland season.
Derry City’s first competitive game under new manager Declan Devine will be on 13 February in the first round of the Setanta Cup. City are away to Irish League side Lisburn Distillery in the first leg, with the return at Brandywell a week later.
