Young stars sign up for the future

Derry have announced that Barry McNamee and Ryan Curran have agreed to new two year contracts with the club.

The two young players, who have enjoyed breakthrough season in the 2012 campaign, have both committed their futures to the club for another two years.

Declan Devine spoke to the Derry News about his vision for the future of the club, “You have Barry NcNamee(20), David McDaid(21), Stephen McLaughlin(21), Patrick McEleney(19), Conor Murphy(19).  We have had four or five and at times this year it has been six or seven.  We want to develop young local talent.”

“We have a very good structure in place.  They are training with John Quigg and then they are coming up to us and training full time.  The club is focusing on developing young players and you saw what they did against Rovers.  They were outstanding, and it’s the only way for clubs to survive in my opinion”
