Having impressed whilst on trial over the last week, including a goal on his debut for Derry against Institute on Tuesday night, Aaron has put pen to paper on a one year deal. Aaron started his career at Wicklow side Arklow Town before securing a move to Sheffield United. He was very impressive in United’s Academy side during the 2011/2012 season which earned Aaron his first senior contract in 2012.  During his time with the first team he appeared as an unused sub on several occasions. In 2012 he spent time on loan at Dunbarton where he made 22 first team appearances before returning to Sheffield.

Speaking this evening after his signing, Aaron had this to say: “Since coming into the club everybody here has made me feel very welcome, there is a good blend of young lads as well as the senior players . Everyone has been great and made me feel really welcome. The facilities that the club have put in place are excellent and you couldn’t ask for more. It was a big decision for me to come home and play in the League of Ireland, but after speaking to Roddy he convinced me to come over for a couple of days and train with the lads. Obviously it was great to get a game last Tuesday against Institute, and I was happy with my first appearance during the week, an assist and a goal wasn’t a bad start. I don’t really get into many forward positions but on Tuesday evening I found myself there twice and made the most of it.”

And Aaron’s new manager Roddy Collins was also happy with the signing. ” I know that Aaron has great potential which he didn’t get to fulfill at Sheffield United. He is a rarity in the modern game in the fact that he has a quality left foot and can play left full, centre left and on the wing. He showed in training during the week that he has a great attitude, a hunger, which is what I want all my players to have. In the game on Tuesday evening he again impressed me and the back room staff with his pace and his ability to get forward. As soon as the game was over I started working on making him my next acquisition.”
