In addition, supporters are reminded of the following advice from the local Gardai
“Gardaí at Buncrana would like to thank all the supporters who attended the recent match against Limerick. We look forward to the replay……played in its entirety this time!!! The good humoured behaviour of all the supporters who attended the match is a real credit to all and Gardaí are grateful in this regard. In advance of next Mondays match against Dundalk we again wish to remind you of a few points;
Arrive in good time Parking restrictions will again be in place in Marian Park. It will be open to “residents only”. We ask match goers to avoid this particular area with their cars and walk the short distance from the car-parks. Last week there was plenty of parking locally and next Monday we don’t envisage any difference.
Please park legally- Thankfully last week we didn’t have one single complaint by any person and we commend all who attended for not causing any obstructions. Thank you for this. We still ask you do not ignore double yellows or no parking cones please.
Please, please don’t leave valuables visible in your car. It’s for your benefit we ask this.
No alcohol is allowed into the Grounds of Maginn Park. This shall be insisted upon by Derry City FC Stewards and enforced by Gardaí. Supporters are also advised that Buncrana is an “Alcohol Free Zone” in terms of drinking in public places.
Please have respect for person’s private property. This is a residential area and we ask that all persons who attend have respect for person’s private property. The behaviour of all supporters was exemplary at the Limerick Match.
If you choose to drink, please don’t do so to excess!! Some of you enjoyed a beer or two last week & enjoyed yourselves without any bother. That’s all we ask. Sláinte in this regard!
Parents please know where your children are. Again no issues in this regard at the last match, however we wish to drive this point home, if young people are intending to arrive to cause annoyance or trouble for genuine supporters you will be dealt with by the Gardaí and/or the PSNI. If this is your intention don’t say you haven’t been warned, Gardaí or PSNI will be visiting your home and your parents may be visiting our station to pick you up!!!
We sincerely wish that all supporters attending have a good time and enjoy the football with all that Buncrana has to offer. The advice we offer is simply to save you and others from having your visit ruined.”
