Derry hit twice in the second half to take all three points on a night when many of their title challengers dropped points.  However having fallen behind after only two minutes it looked a long way back for the Candystripes.

Stephen Kenny has boosted his squad options with the addition of Daniel Lafferty and Martin McCrudden.  Lafferty and McCrudden are both natives of the City but spent the last few years at Celtic and Newcastle United respectively.
