Molloy is another Derry native, although he learned his football at Derby County, winning the Young Player of the Year award there in 2002 before moving onto Drogheda United.

Molloy was one of Stephen Kenny's first signings as City boss and he has become an integral part of the City setup.

Indeed until April 2006, City had never lost a game in which Molloy had played.

A combative midfielder, Molloy's absence was keenly felt during the final day defeat in Cork in 2005, which cost City the title that year.

His first season was somewhat disrupted by injury but he has been a key figure in 2006.

Molloy has continued to play a pivotal role in the heart of the City midfield and is a firm fans favourite.

He doesn't score that many goals but when he does they tend to be spectacular and City will be hoping for more of these in the 2007 season.
