Sean Hargan

Now in his 14th season at Brandywell, 33-year old Hargan is now one of the veterans of the City side.

He sstarted life as a striker, scoring a hat trick in only his second game for the club against Galway United.

A local lad from the Top of the Hill, Hargan was converted to left back and has played there under a number of City managers.

A hard, physical defender he never gives an inch and his 100% commitment explains why he has beaten off the challengers for his position. This is shown by the fact that at the end of the 2007 season Hargy had 422 appearances under his belt, third on the all time list.

He was the centre of a suspension controversy in the 2006 season when he played while suspended, but City were able to prove that they had not been notified by the League.

Hargan scored the crucial winner away to IFK Gothenburg in the 2006 UEFA Cup campaign and has hit the target over fifty times for City.
