St. Patrick’s Athletic v Derry City – Tue 21st May – KO 7.45pm – Richmond Park
SSE Airtricity League
Derry City have a number of injury concerns ahead of their trip to Inchicore to face St Patrick’s Athletic on Tuesday night.
Assistant manager, Kevin Deery confirmed that Eoghan Stokes and Patrick McClean will both miss the game while Ally Gilchrist and Darren Cole are doubtful but will face late fitness tests.
Deery suggested that the Dublin team were a difficult enough proposition at the best of times however this would be an opportunity for the Candystripes to put Saturday’s goalless draw at Sligo behind them.
“We didn’t play well in Sligo and that was the most disappointing aspect of it” he began.
“We weren’t good enough in possession and didn’t create much, which isn’t like us.”
“St Pats will be very tough and we have to be ready.”
“We played really well here on our last visit but this is another day and we need to be at the top of our game again.”
Harry Kenny’s men sit just 4 points behind City in the current league table albeit both have stumbled a bit of late- Derry with 3 points from their last three games and the Saints with just two.
The busy period continues for Declan Devine’s side who finish the month with home games against Finn Harps twice and UCD in the space of seven days after this.
