Following their excellent 2-2 draw at Tallaght on Saturday night, the Candystripes are back at Brandywell this coming Friday for a friendly against Cliftonville (KO 7pm).
Manager Declan Devine is keen to keep the momentum going in the camp before the players get a well earned break next week and said that he intended to play a strong team against the Solitude outfit.
“I thought we battled really hard and showed great character against Rovers at the weekend, and it is important to keep that edge, especially with no competitive fixtures anytime soon.”
“Cliftonville will be a real test for us, but this is also an opportunity for supporters to come along and take in a game that we wouldn’t otherwise have had.”
“The club has agreed to charge £5 for adults with under 16’s admitted free and I can promise them we will look to put out a strong team.”
“Darren McCauley is likely to make his debut in the game and we would be delighted to see as many of our supporters as possible.”
“We have also decided to use the 90th anniversary kit on Friday night as well as I want this to be a meaningful evening for the club.”
Cliftonville are likely to include City loanee Conor McDermott in their squad with another former Derry player Ryan Curran set to lead their line.
