Declan Devine has announced his first signing of the summer with Darren McCauley joining the club from Inverness CT.
The Waterside man joins on an 18-month contract and is available for selection from July 1st.
The left winger returns to the Brandywell where he started his career in 2009 and will once again team up with Ciaron Harkin, who he played with at Coleraine.
17 goals in the 2017/18 season saw McCauley become one of the top players in the Irish League in a year that saw Coleraine challenge for the league title and lift the Irish Cup.
McCauley had been strongly linked with a move to the Candystripes in January of this year but opted for a move to Scottish football instead with ex-City boss John Robertson at Inverness.
Back when McCauley made his debut for the Candystripes, Declan Devine was the club’s Assistant Manager and the now current City boss has been well aware of the talent of the Derry man for quite a while.
Finally the City fans will get to see their man back in the Candystripes.
We caught up with the man himself this morning to get his thoughts below.
