SSE Airtricity League

Declan Devine will have a few additional options available to him ahead of the visit of league leaders Dundalk to the Brandywell on Friday night as he bids to build on a bright start to the second half of the season.
Window signings Darren McCauley and Conor Davis are added to the squad along with former City defender Mark McChrystal who has returned to the club until the end of the season.
The former Crusaders centre back is a useful addition for the Foylesiders’ panel given the recent departure of Josh Kerr and the continued absence through injury of Patrick McClean.

The Candystripes staged a remarkable comeback at Oriel Park the last time these teams met when coming from 2-0 down with 20 minutes left to leave with an excellent point.
Devine is well aware his charges will have to be at their best against the champions again on Friday if they are to continue their good recent run.
“We were excellent in Cork last weekend and although I felt the ludicrous amount of travel caught up with us in the second half at Bohs on Monday, we were full value for at least the draw there.”
“Dundalk are a fantastic side, possibly the best this league has ever seen, and while a team like that demands maximum respect, we can’t stand and admire them.”
“There is likely to be a full house at Brandywell for the game and there’s nowhere we’d rather play than with that passionate support behind us.”
“We’re steadily improving ourselves and this is an opportinity to see how far we’ve come against the best team in the country. That is the challenge for our squad on Friday night.”
Darren Cole came on towards the end of Monday’s match in Dalymount and the Derry boss will be relieved to have him back again although neither McClean nor Michael McCrudden will feature in this one.
On match day from 7pm, tickets will be on sale from Long Tower Youth Club which can be accessed from the stadium car park.
