Cameron Dummigan has this week signed a 2-year contract extension that will keep him at the Brandywell until at least the end of the 2026 season.
The 28-year old defender was outstanding in 2022 after joining from Dundalk, however a nasty injury during pre-season training in Spain last year restricted his appearances to just a handful of games.
Now, hopefully, that’s all behind him as he looked forward to the next couple of years.
“It was an easy enough decision for me. I’m enjoying my time here and we have a really good group of people at the club” he said.
“Ruaidhri and Paul are looking to bring sucess and I want to be part of that.
“The injury came at a bad time, but hopefully it’s behind me now and I’m looking forward to a busy second half of the season.”
For the manager’s part, Ruaidhri was clearly pleased to get this particular piece of business done early.
“Cameron is in the peak years of his career and we have all seen his importance to the team since his arrival.
“He is an outstanding footballer and I am sure everyone connected with the club will be delighted with this news.”
